Tinley Class

Children in Tinley Class are given a reading book to take home and share with an adult. We check reading diaries every day and use them to communicate with parents about their child’s progress on a regular basis.

We also give children their own set of sound cards to help them practise their letter recognition and the pronunciation of the sounds at home. Regular practise helps the children to develop their reading and writing skills.

A weekly homework task will be set based on our learning within the week. It should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete. Homework is sent home in books on Wednesdays and is handed in on Tuesdays.

Parents – if you are unsure how to help your child with their Maths homework please check our calculation policy below for guidance on the way it is taught in school.
